Bar owner who sold to Chinese buyer after buying out rival article The bar where James Bond was shot in The Spy Who Loved Me was the most valuable bar in London last year, according to a new study.
The Barman’s Bar and Restaurant in Wandsworth, London, which sold for a record £13 million in April last year was the second most valuable in the country, according a report by the London Evening Standard.
The bar was bought in 2016 by a Chinese businessman, whose family owns the property and who was looking to expand the business.
The owners said they were in talks with the businessman about a future sale of the property, which was built in the 1920s.
However, the owner told the Standard: “I’d like to buy the bar and have it in a more modern environment with more of a modern look.”
It is in a good place and is in great condition.
“The bar is one of the only remaining remaining bars in the city, which is known for its high-end hotels, nightclubs and art galleries.
Barman’s owners, a Chinese family and a local businessman, have been approached for comment.
