Chocolate bar sold at Ottawa festival in Canada’s chocolate industry is counterfeit

An Ottawa man was arrested Friday after he allegedly sold an illegal chocolate bar at a festival in Ontario, CBC News has learned.

The man, identified only as C.J., allegedly sold a fake bar at the Canada’s Chocolate Festival at The Woodlands, according to the Ottawa Police Service.

A Canadian police spokesperson said C.j. had an outstanding warrant and had been taken into custody.

C.j., the spokesperson said, was arrested at a location in the community of Chateau de Champs-Élysées, north of Montreal, about 3:45 p.m.

Friday.

He faces charges of importing and possessing counterfeit goods and is scheduled to appear in court at the end of the week.
